1. What is media in teaching ? How many teaching media types do you know, Explain

Answer : Teaching media are all tools or educational mediums that are used by educators to convey or to stimulate messeges, thoughts, teaching material to students in the learning process to achieve learning goals. There are 5 types of media that I know, the first is audio media, audio media that can only be heard such as mp3, radio. The second is visual media, media that can only be seen such as posters, pictures, graphics, etc. the third is audio visual media, media that can be heard and also seen, for example videos, tv, sound films etc. Furthermore, multimedia, media that can be presented is complete media such as animation. And the last reality media, real media in the natural environment.

2. Why teacher needs media in teaching ?

Answer : Why teachers need media in learning is because we can say media as teachers' best friend in teaching, which means that media teaching facilitates the learning process which makes it easier for teachers to convey and clarify material using the right media, and makes it easier for students to grasp clear and core messages from learning. Besides that, media helping teachers to use study time better, as well as reducing the burden on teachers in presenting information. The position of the media in learning has become a complete need that can attract students' interest in learning again, and make the learning process more interesting and effective because the use of media leads students to learn by doing process.

 

3. What are the criteria of good teaching media ?

Answer :  Criteria of good teaching media are:

1. Conformity with the learning material (what media are in accordance with the learning topic that day)

2. Conformity with student characteristics (must pay attention to whether the media is compatible with the heterogeneous character of students in one class)

3. Suitability with student learning styles

4. Conformity with environmental conditions and time

5. Conformity with objectives (suitable media to achieve learning goals)

6. Media that has been tested for its validity

7.  Ease of obtaining media

8. Educators are skilled in using it

9.  Most importantly, according to their needs at the meeting with the hope that the chosen media can accelerate the learning process and achieve the expected goals.

4. Do you think that the teaching media needs to be developed ?Why ?

Answer :  Yes of course, teaching media really needs to be developed and follow the development of science and technology, because media development is one of the determining factors for the success of learning, with media development it will increase and attract students' interest in learning. The learning media is actually dynamic as we know in today's very fast technological developments which clearly affect student learning styles and interests, if we as teachers do not keep up with the times, then how can we balance student learning needs and interests with our media? use in the learning process, of course this will cause ineffectiveness in the learning process. Therefore the media needs to be developed, it could be combining traditional media with modern media, in essence, depending on the situation, conditions, interests and needs.
